The Windsor-Essex Chapter of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) invited local companies to enter the Windsor-Essex Engineering Innovation Challenge 2013 (WEEIC). Omega Tool Corp’s submission ‘Conventional to Alternative Mould Base Design’ won first place in the below category;
Experimental Development: Improved Product
Project that achieves technological advancement to create new, or improve existing materials, devices or products
Projects were judged on four main criteria:
i. Project objectives, solutions, achievements
ii. Level of complexity of innovation
iii. Contribution to improve the social, economic, environmental quality of life.
This was an excellent opportunity for local companies to connect with the community, showcase their innovations, and to promote engineering to high school and elementary students, as well as the community at large.
